Early Help Locality Team Leader
12-month temporary post (subject to service consultation)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Team Leader to join our evolving Family Help Service, supporting children (019) and families across the borough.
This is a key role at a time of national Children’s Social Care Reform, including the Family First Partnership Programme, strengthening early intervention and integrated Family Help delivery.
You will lead a locality team delivering coordinated, intensive support to families with complex needs, using a whole-family, strengths-based approach to achieve sustained positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and develop a targeted Early Help team
- Oversee high-quality assessments, plans and interventions
- Drive effective early help delivery and improved outcomes
- Work closely with partners across health, education and social care
- Support safe step-up/step-down with Children’s Social Care
- Monitor performance and lead continuous improvement
- Ensure strong safeguarding oversight across all practice
About You
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent in a relevant field
- Experience of leading or supervising staff working with vulnerable families
- Strong background in multi-agency working and early intervention
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding and preventing escalation of need
- Confident decision-maker with the ability to support and challenge practice
Working Arrangements
Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week of 8:45 17:00.
Dependent on service requirements, you may be required to work flexibly outside of these hours to meet family’s needs.
