This is a team manager role, with a range of responsibilities providing the right candidate with the opportunity to excel in this varied and interesting role; people management, Early Help casework management, and Children and Family Centre (0-19 hub style) management.
A warm, enthusiastic person with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as good organisational and IT skills, is required. Working as part of a team of ten managers, this role ensures families across Bromley can access the same level of excellent early help support regardless of location.
An excellent understanding of the rigour and application of OFSTED ILACS is essential.
The post holder will be required to manage a diverse team including, a team of Family Support and Parenting Practitioners, as well as one of the borough’s six Children and Family Centres, the staff within it. In addition to this, the post holder is required to lead on a range of specific focus areas for the service e.g., be the Service lead on GRT (Gypsy, Roma, Traveller), practice development, and data.
This is a demanding role which requires the post-holder to actively challenge staff, colleagues, and families to effect change. The successful candidate will have the ability and knowledge to ensure focused appropriate support is provided for families under pressure. The strength to challenge staff to work within our Bromley Relationship Model and practice. Understanding the need to evidence the impact of interventions is key.
The ability and skill to effectively deliver a range of Evidence Based accredited and approved parenting classes to families, whether keen or resistant to change, is core to this role. Likewise, the knowledge and experience to ensure the service is placing children’s safety first and by doing so providing good quality early intervention and preventative services. A clear understanding of how, and the ability to ensure, this reduces the impact on Children’s Social Care services whilst keeping the safety of the child as the central focus is required. This role has limited scope to work from home with a minimum of 4 days in the office/ Children and Family Centre. There is also a requirement to be flexible to respond to the needs of the business, including occasional weekend and evening working is required.

A professional qualification in Education, Social Services, Health, Youth or Community work, or significant relevant experience is required.
