Location: Bromley Civic Centre/flexible working

Hours: Full time - 36 hours

If yes, this could be the perfect role for you! We are currently seeking a talented, experienced and ambitious Senior Practitioner to join our Permanency team at Bromley. The role will involve assessing, training, supporting, and supervising foster carers, kinship carers and supported lodgings hosts in line with the relevant Regulations, National Minimum Standards and good practices.

About the Team

The successful candidate would be joining a warm, friendly and enthusiastic team who are committed to making a difference to the lives of children and families in our borough.

 

About the Role and Key Requirements

The post holder will be required to undertake a range of assessment work, including Connected Persons, Special Guardianship, Form F and Non-Agency assessments. They will also provide Supervising Social Work support to temporarily approved carers. The role involves undertaking home visits, attending in-person meetings and events, as well as completing office-based work 

 

The successful candidate will:

  • Possess a professional qualification/ Degree, Masters, C.Q. S.W., Dip. Social Work. Essential - Applicant to be registered with Social Work England or able to obtain registration prior to commencement of employment.
  • Appropriate and relevant post-qualification experience of children and family placements, fostering and kinship care.
  • Demonstrate a genuine respect for families, a belief in the benefits of life-long learning, and knowledge of issues faced by families.
  • Be approachable and enthusiastic with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Enjoy working part of a team as well as working independently
  • Have excellent organisational skills and enjoy working in partnership with a range of agencies in order to deliver positive and effective outcomes for the families
  • Be a proficient user of IT software
  • Demonstrate the ability to keep accurate records and follow policy and documentation procedures

Applicants must have Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Care,  enhanced Disclosure Barring Service check, and be registered with Social Work England (or able to obtain registration prior to commencement of employment). Appropriate and relevant experience and post-qualification experience of children and families social work within a statutory, voluntary or independent sector organisation.
