Salary and retention payments: Occupational Therapist BR11/12 (plus 2 increments) £41,476 - £48,396. Plus golden hello £1000 and annual retention payment on anniversary of appointment of £1500.

Looking for your next exciting adventure in Adult Social Care? The London Borough of Bromley has recently introduced a new Occupational Therapy led front door team (The Community Intervention Hub). We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Occupational Therapist to join our new team at this exciting time to join our friendly and hard-working team as part of this new ASC front door model. Working in conjunction with the Initial Contact Team, Safeguarding Team and based in the Community Intervention & Prevention Hub.
About the Role:
The role is in the front door offering focused short-term intervention to mitigate immediate risk and ensure that residents OT and social care needs are identified and met.
The team consists of Occupational Therapists and Social Workers working together to share knowledge and aim for excellence for the residents of Bromley accessing our services. We work within a hybrid model with a mixture of working from the Civic Centre, community assessment visits and working from home.
The role will involve:
- Joint triaging, multi-disciplinary and collaborative working with social workers in the Community Intervention Hub
- Occupational Therapy assessments with residents in their own homes and over the telephone triaging to identify the Occupational Therapy needs.
- Completing joint visits with the social workers in our team.
- Identifying and ordering the required Occupational Therapy equipment and minor adaptations.
- Moving and Handling assessments when required.
- Supervision of less qualified staff.
Current registration with HCPC is essential.
The successful candidate will receive a full induction and receive regular professional supervision. We are dedicated to ensuring the sustainability of our service and offer on the job learning opportunities and an Occupational Therapy training program. This includes a Journal Club and a Clinical Reasoning Group, to support less experienced staff to increase their knowledge and enable more experienced staff an opportunity to discuss and problem solve complex cases.
