An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the Information, Advice & Support Service (IASS) in Bromley. The IASS is a statutory service providing support to children and young people with SEND and their parents/carers.

The Service has an arms-length, impartial remit and applicants will need to have experience of effective multi-agency working including supporting and challenging colleagues across the Local Authority and the Integrated Care Boards (ICBs). Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills are essential and evidence of how these have been used to effect best outcomes for children and young people.

We are looking for someone with current experience of supporting children and young people with SEND and their families across the education, health, and social care sectors. Experience of managing a team of staff and volunteers to achieve the right outcomes for children in a highly pressurised environment is essential.

We require someone who can provide high-quality caseload management and supervision to the team.  Knowledge of the local area would be beneficial, including – but not limited to – the SEND system, educational provisions, local amenities, demographics, etc.

Robust knowledge of the IASS Minimum Standards is necessary, and IPSEA qualifications are preferable, and if missing a commitment to obtaining these to Level 3.

Proven experience of constructive partnership working with all agencies and departments is essential.

Candidates will need to understand and analyse service data to lead on continuous service development.  The successful candidate will be able to use this data to drive new initiatives within the service and report on these to senior leaders.

The Service is constantly evolving, and the successful candidate will need to identify and create opportunities and drive change to enhance service provision while remaining flexible, energetic and able to inspire the team to be part of the changes.

For an informal discussion about the post please call Matt Barton, IASS Manager on 020 8461 7019.

Important to note:
Currently this is a hybrid role and the post holder will be required on site at least 3 days per week.  This is subject to change, and may increase, to meet the needs of the business and families accessing the Service.
Applications should fully address the person specification as they will be competitively shortlisted against this.
All appointments will be offered at the minimum salary point for the grade of the role.
The successful candidate will require a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
We welcome candidates that reflect our local communities.
Advert will close at midnight on Sunday 17th May 2026.
Interviews and testing will be held in person on Friday 29th May 2026 at Blenheim Children and Family Centre in Orpington BR6 9BH.

Applications will be assessed based on the criteria set out in the Job Description and Person Specification, which can be found here.
