Join Our Housing Team

If you have experience in the housing sector and are passionate about delivering high-quality, meaningful public services, we would love to hear from you.

At Bromley, we are committed to developing our staff and creating opportunities for career progression. You will work within a supportive and ambitious team that is focused on improving outcomes for residents across the borough.

The Role

The Home Improvement Agency (HIA) is seeking proactive, highly organised Grants and Adaptations Officers to join our expanding team.

You will play a key role in ensuring Disabled Facilities Grants, discretionary loans, and home adaptation projects are delivered efficiently, effectively, and to a high standard. This includes supporting residents through the grant process, coordinating works, monitoring contractors, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and procedures.

The HIA provides essential support to residents by delivering aids and adaptations that enable people to remain independent, safe, and comfortable in their own homes. As we continue to transform and develop our services, this is an exciting opportunity to help shape new ways of working, influence best practice, and make a meaningful difference to the lives of Bromley residents.

About You

We are looking for a confident and knowledgeable housing professional who can demonstrate:

  • Experience of administering grants and adaptations, with a good understanding of relevant grants legislation.

  • Excellent organisational and case management skills, with the ability to manage a varied workload.
  • Strong IT skills and experience of maintaining accurate electronic records and case management systems.
  • The ability to carry out property inspections and effectively monitor adaptation works.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused and empathetic approach.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing and working positively to a collaborative team environment.

  • Qualification in Construction or a related discipline.
  • Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) qualification.
  • Trusted Assessor qualification.
