Active Involvement Youth Worker (Maternity Cover)
Full-time | Fixed Term

We are currently recruiting a full-time Active Involvement Youth Worker to join our Active Involvement Team, supporting children in care and care leavers in Bromley.

As the Active Involvement Team, our primary goal is to create groups and experiences where young people feel a strong sense of belonging, develop an understanding of their identity, celebrate their achievements, and actively contribute to service development.

 

About the Role

As part of the Active Involvement Team, you will play a key role in ensuring that our children and young people have a voice and are actively involved in:

  • Service planning
  • Service delivery
  • Decisions that affect their lives

You will lead on delivering engaging youth work activities that are inclusive, meaningful and empowering.

 

Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Lead and facilitate face-to-face youth work sessions
  • Support the development of our Living in Care Council (LinCC)
  • Co-facilitate our care leavers forum Change for Care Leavers (CfCL)
  • Lead group work programmes for young people aged 11–18 years, including our upcoming Summer programme activities
  • Co-facilitate the Aspire, Inspire and Motivate project (AIM) for young people who are not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET)
  • Organise and deliver key annual events, including:
    • Celebration of Achievement Ceremony
    • Corporate Parenting Fun Day

You will be someone who:

  • Works to a high professional standard
  • Builds strong, trusting relationships with young people
  • Has a passion for youth participation and inclusion
  • Is confident facilitating groups and engaging young people with diverse needs

 

About the Team

You will be joining a supportive and committed team that is passionate about improving outcomes for children in care and care leavers. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to be involved in innovative participation work and meaningful service development.

A structured handover will be provided to support you in transitioning into the role and existing programmes.

 

Contract Information

  • This is a fixed-term maternity cover post for up to 12 months or until the return of the substantive postholder.
  • Full-time hours
  • Based within the Active Involvement Team, Bromley
