Senior Practitioner
Bristol City Council
Full Time, Fixed Term until 31st March 2029
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Practitioner to join the Homeless Intervention Service. This is a fixed-term post, funded externally until 31st March 2029.
You will work supporting the practitioners of the Homeless Intervention Service, a small team of practitioners who are passionate about our work with homeless people and rough sleepers.
We would welcome applications from any practitioner who is eager to work with this cohort of people.
Due to the nature of our work, our practitioners have a lot of face-to-face contact with the homeless community fostering relationship-based practice and therefore the work requires a high level of resilience, flexibility and commitment.
We work using the My Team Around Me Approach, in a multidisciplinary way, working closely with other agencies to provide the best possible support to an often very marginalised group of people. Experience and an interest in homelessness, substance dependence, mental health, domestic abuse and the criminal justice system are all useful.
The work can be challenging but we aim to provide an inclusive and supportive environment, as such we encourage working from the office regularly.
Experience is needed of carrying out a Social Work role and supervising others doing this work; being able to support and direct the team on a day to day basis.
This will include leading on coordinating Safeguarding Enquiries, being part of the leadership team to ensure a high quality of service for those we work with and the accountability of our practitioners and supporting the development of the team.
Please note that this role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.
