Enterprise Applications Lead

We're looking for an experienced digital leader to take ownership of Bristol City Council's enterprise application estate, with a particular focus on Microsoft 365 and associated cloud services.
In this role, you'll lead a small specialist team and work closely with colleagues across Digital, ICT, Information Governance and relevant council services to ensure enterprise applications are secure, well governed, widely adopted and deliver real value.
What you'll do
- Lead the management and development of Microsoft 365 and other enterprise applications.
- Ensure services are secure, compliant and aligned to organisational needs.
- Develop governance, controls and operating standards for enterprise applications.
- Drive adoption, learning and digital enablement across the council.
- Lead service improvements, change activity and future roadmap planning.
- Use data and insight to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Provide leadership and development for the Enterprise Applications Team.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor on enterprise technologies.
About you
You will have:
- Experience managing enterprise applications and cloud-based services. SharePoint is a key platform for the council, so experience of managing and developing SharePoint services would be particularly valuable.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 and modern workplace technologies.
- The ability to keep up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends, including AI and Microsoft 365 developments, and can identify opportunities to apply them in ways that deliver value for the organisation.
- Experience developing governance, compliance and service management approaches.
- A track record of leading teams and driving service improvement.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Experience supporting technology adoption and organisational change.
