About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Bristol City Council’s Planned Programmes Team as a Planned Programme Supervisor. This is a fantastic development opportunity within a fast-paced and dynamic service that delivers large-scale improvement programmes across the Council’s housing stock.

The Planned Programmes Team is responsible for the delivery of high-quality bathroom replacement programmes and, where required, supporting gas and electrical heating installation projects. Our objective is to provide safe, secure and well-maintained homes that residents can be proud of.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Planned Programme Supervisor, you will work closely alongside an existing supervisor to deliver an expanding planned maintenance programme. The role will primarily focus on the management and successful delivery of a bathroom replacement programme, with an investment value of approximately £15 million over the next four to five years.

You will play a key leadership role in supporting and developing a team of surveyors, ensuring high standards of performance, quality, customer satisfaction and programme delivery are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the management and delivery of planned bathroom installation programmes.
  • Support the planning, coordination and monitoring of programme performance against agreed targets, budgets and timescales.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring and professional development to a team of surveyors.
  • Lead on contract management activities, ensuring contractors deliver services in line with contractual requirements and quality standards.
  • Monitor programme expenditure and contribute to effective budget management.
  • Manage recruitment activities and support workforce planning as required.
  • Drive performance management through effective monitoring, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coach, motivate and develop team members to achieve individual and service objectives.
  • Plan and monitor daily workflows to ensure resources are utilised effectively.
  • Work collaboratively with internal departments and external contractors to deliver an efficient, high-quality service to residents.
  • Promote a strong customer-focused approach, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking an individual with experience in planned maintenance, programme delivery or contract management within a housing, construction or property maintenance environment.

You will demonstrate:

  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Experience managing contractors and delivering planned maintenance programmes.
  • Excellent organisational and project management abilities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A commitment to quality, customer service and continuous improvement.
  • The ability to motivate, support and develop high-performing teams.
