Therapeutic Practice Lead

Permanent, Full Time 37 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Practice Lead, within the Bristol Therapeutic Support Service. This is a permanent full time position and would suit a professional who has substantial experience in a therapeutic setting. 

There are five specialist teams in BTSS that work together to improve outcomes for children and young people in care, returning home and leaving care. The service provides support at key stages of a child or young person's journey, helping to promote stability, strengthen relationships, and reduce unnecessary moves for children. Trauma informed interventions using relationship-based approaches, that focus on the individual needs of the children, young people, carers and families are at the centre of the support offered. 

 As a Practice Lead in the Bristol Therapeutic Support Service you will be providing a range of therapeutic support as well as consultation and training for staff and carers with the overarching goal of promoting and achieving stability for children in care.  We strive to continuously develop our services and practice and working in this environment will provide you with a good opportunity to influence developments as well as enhance your own skills and knowledge.  

This post will work as part of the management team within our service leading and developing practice, delivering training to staff and carers as well as consulting and supporting our children’s homes. 
 

Over the last 2 and a half years we have been providing significant support to our children’s homes developing and embedding a therapeutic model of care. It is an exciting time as Bristol grow their provision of children's homes in the city, enabling children to remain close to home with high quality care. 

You will provide therapeutic consultation and support to staff, children’s home managers and teams, as well as the professional networks around them to ensure children in care are supported in relation to their mental health needs. 

To apply for this position you will need a degree level relevant professional qualification and significant experience in a therapeutic setting. This post will suit a passionate innovative individual who enjoys a challenge, working creatively and as part of a team.
