The Business Support Service are delighted to recruit a Business Support Officer who can join us to reach shared goals and have a positive can-do attitude and not afraid of trying new things. In our varied roles you will be working collaboratively as part of centralised service which provides support to a wide range of different departments across the council. organisational values and behaviours
About the Role: Finance Team 2
As part of the Accounts Receivable team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient management of incoming payments and maintaining strong financial controls. Responsibilities include:
- Assist with sending invoices to customers
- Help record incoming payments and match them to customer accounts
- Support the team in chasing overdue payments via email or phone
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer account records
- Respond to basic customer queries and escalate issues when needed
- Help with filing, data entry and general admin tasks
- Work closely with the team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations

For permanent Bristol City Council employees, this post will be a secondment.
For employees who are currently on a fixed term contract with Bristol City Council, the secondment must not extend beyond the end of the fixed term period to ensure there is a substantive post to return to.
If you are currently a casual worker or a member of an employment agency (currently working with Bristol City Council) this post will be a fixed term contract.
