Full Time - 37 hours per week, Fixed term contract until 31st October 2026

You will be working outdoors in parks and open spaces and within our housing sites across the City. As part of the team, you will help ensure clean and tidy parks that are well managed which is one of Bristol residents' key concerns. You will also ensure parks contribute to the wellbeing of every resident and visitor to the City.

You will have a highly important and visual role in making sure our parks and green spaces are welcoming and attractive places to visit.  

You could be ensuring that parks are cleared of litter and that bins are regularly emptied and maintained. Or be part of teams working on horticultural tasks such as grass cutting and shrub pruning. If you have preference to the type of task you do please specify this in your personal statement.  

What do I need to have?

A driving licence is essential to help us to deliver the service efficiently across the city.

There will be weekend working. This will be on a rota and will involve two weekends a month on average. 

You will be provided with all uniform and safety equipment and training to carry out your role safely.

You will have a flexible approach to work, be required to work weekends on a rota basis and you will need to be able to meet the physical demands of the role. You will have a strong customer focus and be prepared to work both in a small team and on your own at different times.

The post may operate across a range of sites throughout the city in all weathers.

For permanent Bristol City Council employees, this post will be a secondment. 

For employees who are currently on a fixed term contract with Bristol City Council, the secondment must not extend beyond the end of the fixed term period to ensure there is a substantive post to return to.

If you are currently a casual worker or a member of an employment agency (currently working with Bristol City Council) this post will be a fixed term contract.
