Location: Sandy Park Depot/Hybrid working.


This is a fantastic development opportunity to join our fast-paced Housing Repairs & Maintenance Service.


The service is responsible for the provision of quality day-to-day repairs and maintenance of Bristol City Council’s housing stock; repairing and refurbishment of empty homes to bring them back to a quality lettable standard; as well as implementing cyclical maintenance and planned improvements, servicing programmes and major projects. 


Our aim is to provide safe, secure, habitable properties that our tenants can be proud of.


What will I be doing:


You will be responsible for day-to-day supervision of multi-disciplinary teams including Senior Business Support Officers, Repairs Co-ordinators and Technical Officers, who co-ordinate repairs and arrange programmes of work for homes and properties within Housing & Landlord Services.  This role will have responsibility for supporting our intake of temporary staff with a focus on the monitoring of the backlog data, the data quality and performance of the team.

 

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Recruitment
  • Performance Management
  • Coaching, development & motivation of teams
  • Monitoring and planning of daily workflow
  • Working together with internal colleagues across a range of teams, as well as liaising with external contractors to ensure an effective service is delivered to our residents
  • Managing compliance reporting processes and data

 

What do I need to have?

You’ll need excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills and be skilled at dealing with change; always looking to improve our resident’s experience.  


We need you to have an awareness of social housing issues and repairs and a good understanding of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion policies.
