An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit two Education Safeguarding Advisors in the Safeguarding in Education Team. 

You will support the Safeguarding in Education Team in fulfilling the Local Authority’s statutory duty under Section 175 of the Education Act 2002, ensuring that education settings across Bristol have robust measures in place to promote the safety and welfare of children.

Who We’re Looking For 

We are seeking enthusiastic and creative individuals with the ability to work accurately and pay close attention to detail.

You will be confident in providing specialist safeguarding advice and support to education professionals, particularly where gaps in policy, process, or practice are identified.   

These roles will support the sector in engaging with both national and local safeguarding priorities, including learning from statutory reviews and embedding effective practice. At Bristol City Council, we have high aspirations for our children and young people and are committed to delivering services that achieve the best possible outcomes. 

These posts would suit someone with experience in the education and/or social care sectors, particularly in safeguarding roles. 

Key Responsibilities 

You will be expected to:
 

  • Provide expert consultation to educational settings across the city.  
  • Undertake a specialist role in a designated area of practice, promoting effective safeguarding practice across the education workforce and partner agencies.  
  • Support the development of resources and delivery of training on specialist safeguarding topics, ensuring content is tailored appropriately for education professionals. 
  • Facilitate projects focused on improving the performance and effectiveness of safeguarding systems across the Local Authority. 

 

Please note that these roles are subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.

These roles are office-based at City Hall, College Green. We value the benefits of working alongside colleagues to support professional development and foster positive working relationships. While occasional home working may be possible, this will depend on service needs and demands.
