Employee Engagement and Communications Advisor

Full Time, Fixed Term for 12 months to cover maternity leave (starting August 2026).

This is a fixed-term maternity cover position, offering an excellent opportunity to join a busy and supportive team and make a real impact through internal communications and employee engagement.
We are looking for a proactive individual who has experience in developing and delivering internal communications and employee engagement campaigns.
In this role, you will oversee and deliver our weekly communications pulse of news and updates to the workforce, working with officers to understand their aims and objectives.
You will also create internal communications and employee engagement materials for a wide range of projects and support the work of our employee engagement and communication consultants on larger pieces of work to help deliver successful project outcomes.
We are looking for a communications professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and can juggle multiple projects at once.
You would be joining a team of five and must be available to work in City Hall as and when required.

For permanent Bristol City Council employees, this post will be a secondment.
For employees who are currently on a fixed term contract with Bristol City Council, the secondment must not extend beyond the end of the fixed term period to ensure there is a substantive post to return to.
If you are currently a casual worker or a member of an employment agency (currently working with Bristol City Council) this post will be a fixed term contract.
