KBSP Training and Development Officer
Bristol City Council
Full Time, Fixed Term for 12 months.
Do you want to play a key role in ensuring that professionals are equipped to safeguard vulnerable children and adults and contribute to safer communities?
The Keeping Bristol Safe Partnership (KBSP) brings together statutory partners—including Bristol City Council, Avon & Somerset Police, BNSSG Integrated Care Board, Probation, and Avon Fire & Rescue—alongside a wide range of voluntary and community organisations. The KBSP Business Unit supports the partnership to deliver its statutory responsibilities and strategic priorities.
One of these priorities is maintaining a strong, accessible, and innovative partnership training offer. Acting as the officer overseeing this, the role provides an exciting opportunity to influence practice across the city and make a real difference to the lives of children, young people, and adults.
About the Role
As the Training and Development Officer, you will lead the partnership’s training strategy and deliver high‑quality safeguarding and community safety training. You will design, deliver, and evaluate a range of training programmes, ensuring they reflect emerging local and national priorities.
About You
We are looking for a confident, proactive, and resilient individual who can work strategically and thrive in a varied and fast‑paced environment.
You will bring:
- Experience working in multi‑agency safeguarding, community safety partnerships, or similar settings supporting vulnerable individuals.
- A strong understanding of current safeguarding and community safety developments, both locally and nationally.
- Proven ability to design and deliver engaging training using a variety of methods and formats.
- The ability to utilise data to adapt training delivery and strategy
- A strong understanding of how inequity, prejudice and discrimination work and know how to adapt training approaches in response.
- Excellent time‑management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- A recognised qualification in a related profession and/or substantial practitioner experience delivering safeguarding training for children, adults at risk, and/or community safety services.
This is a key role in strengthening Bristol’s safeguarding and community safety workforce. If you are passionate about partnership working and committed to improving outcomes, particularly for excluded and vulnerable people, we would love to hear from you.
Please note that this role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.
