Disrepair Surveyor x4
Bristol City Council
Full Time, Permanent
Do you want to make a difference to people's lives? Do you want an interesting, diverse works package that makes the day go fast!?
We're seeking enthusiastic and motivated housing disrepair surveyors to help improve the lives of our residents.
This role requires a good understanding of building pathology, especially hazards, defects and their causes. You should be methodical and enquiring.
You will be responsible for resident engagement, inspections, ordering any works and monitoring the works' progress from start to completion of complex repairs cases.
The situations surrounding disrepair claims can be varied and interesting. You will:
- Inspect properties
- Write reports
- Take photographic evidence
- Compile witness statements for court
- Managing repairs works from inception through to completion
- Hold a caseload
- Liaise with multiple stakeholders
Occasionally, you may need to attend court and give evidence under oath of your findings. An understanding of the disrepair protocol would be an advantage, but we'll provide training.
Your professional expertise will be fundamental in deciding our stance in relation to defending and settling claims, but most importantly helping residents housing conditions improve.
Please note that this role is subject to a Basic DBS Check.
