This is an exciting opportunity for candidates who want to deliver the highest level of solution-orientated customer care, in our Operations Centre.
This is a state of the art, multi-purpose Centre, which has brought together the Emergency Control Centre, Traffic Management, and Community Safety (CCTV) Control Rooms.
The Centre is a 24/7/365 days a year operational space, offering a variety of services, and is a platform for Smarter City Services.
This role will include operating security alarm platforms and CCTV surveillance camera systems; along with the use of out of office hours telephony, intercom and radio, car park systems, and concierge services.
You will be required to work creatively in an innovative integrated manner, in line with the scope and vision of the Operations Centre, ensuring that improved services are delivered to the people of Bristol and beyond.
You will also ensure accuracy and have excellent communication and customer service skills, including liaising with the public, internal and external customers, and be able to use your own initiative in solving problems. Good IT skills and confidence in the use of Microsoft Office are needed.
There are also many overtime opportunities and where your shift falls on a bank holiday you will receive an additional hourly wage of around £12 on top of your normal rate. A wage increase for all council staff is currently under negotiation.
Please note that this post is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check and Police vetting (NPPV 2).
