About the role

Join our Business Support Team and play a vital role in helping services across Children, Young People and Community Development operate effectively. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and customer-focused professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, supporting colleagues, managing key administrative processes and helping to deliver high-quality services for children, young people and families. In the role you will develop valuable experience working with a variety of council services, stakeholders and partner organisations, helping to broaden your skills and career opportunities.

In this role, you will:

  • Act as a first point of contact for the service, handling enquiries, correspondence, calls and emails professionally and efficiently
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support, including arranging meetings, preparing documentation and taking accurate minutes
  • Manage a range of financial processes, such as raising purchase orders, processing invoices and supporting payment administration
  • Maintain accurate records, databases and spreadsheets, producing reports and supporting statutory returns where required.
  • Work closely with colleagues, partners and external providers to resolve queries, improve processes and ensure services run smoothly

About you

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience providing high-quality business or administrative support in a busy environment
  • Can manage multiple priorities, organise their workload effectively and meet deadlines consistently
  • Has strong ICT skills, including confidence using Microsoft Office applications, databases and information systems
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills and can build positive working relationships with a wide range of people
  • Maintains a high level of accuracy and can handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
  • Is proactive, organised and committed to continuously improving processes and service delivery.
