Hours of work: 36 hours per week     
Location: Civic Centre and other locations from time to time

The Post

The post holder will have the lead strategic responsibility for one or more areas of public health practice, reporting to a Consultant in Public Health or equivalent. In addition, the post has a wider public health function that includes conducting needs assessment, strategy development and collaborative working with other agencies to develop and commission health programmes and tackle health inequalities across Brent. Key areas of focus will be on children and young people mental health and wellbeing and also immunisation. 

The Person

The Senior Public Health Strategist needs to be an experienced professional in public health who can strategically lead projects across the council/involving external partners.

You will need an understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methods and be able to apply them to identify and describe public health problems. Alongside this you will need to have experience with planning, delivering, and evaluating public health interventions.

The post holder will also need to be able to interpret data and convert to intelligence to inform commissioning and strategic decision making.
