The Post
 
The Sales & Marketing Manager leads a small sales team that exists to maximise commercial income generated from advertising and sponsorship, the Film Office and from hiring out events spaces in The Drum and The Base at Brent Civic Centre. The Drum is Brent Council’s flagship conference and events centre hosting a range of events including conferences, weddings, filming and corporate functions. No two days are the same in this role. You will shape and implement a marketing strategy to drive business to our flagship events spaces within the spectacular and award winning Brent Civic Centre. You will seek out opportunities to maximise the profitable usage of these spaces and generate new ideas for income generation, including from our Film Office and advertising and sponsorship opportunities.
 
The Person

This is a fantastic and rare opportunity for a proactive and customer focused Sales & Marketing professional who is keen to build on our success over recent years and continue to grow our commercial income that helps protect council services in Brent.

We are looking for a strong commercially minded leader with attention to detail and a passion for income generation and delivering service excellence.

You will be personable and build rapport with existing and potential clients and internal stakeholders easily. You will be experienced in venue sales and adept at delivering a range of events including weddings, conferences, meetings and large-scale events. You will have experience working with a broad range of clients and understand the challenges of managing a multi-purpose venue with a variety of stakeholders.

You will thrive in a busy environment with competing priorities and multiple opportunities for income generation and above all you will be a customer-focused team player capable of leading a small but high performing income generation team.
