Deputy Team Manager (Adult Social Care)

Salary range: £52,194 - £55,323 p.a. inc. London weighting
- A £5000 ‘golden hello’ for managers new to Brent, upon completion of their probationary period.
- An annual retention payment of £3000 for eligible frontline workers and managers from Grade PO2 – PO7
Contract: Permanent
Hours of work: 36 hours per week
Location: Civic centre and other locations from time to time
The Post
Several permanent opportunities have arisen for deputy team managers who are qualified social workers in Brent. The following positions are available;
- South Deputy Team Manager Locality Team
- North Deputy Team Manager Locality Team
Your primary role will be to support the Team Manager to manage the team. You will provide regular supervision and help to create a team culture of learning. As the Deputy Team Manager you will lead a team of professionals, responding to queries, assisting with decision making and problem solving. You will provide clinical and management supervision to occupational therapy/social work practitioners. You will contribute to multi-agency forums and develop and nurture relationships within the Local Authority and across partnership agencies. You will have a commitment to staff wellbeing and reflective practice.

The Person
We are looking for three qualified social workers with significant post qualifying experience who are registered with Social Work England. You will have excellent communication and managerial skills and experience of working within a social care. You will need to be passionate about working with vulnerable adults and providing an excellent service.
The ideal candidates will be dynamic and analytical in their approach and demonstrate the ability to manage competing demands and prioritise effectively to promote safe, positive and timely decisions for the residents of Brent. You will be able to contribute to developing practice within the team and provide mentoring to colleagues in the wider Adult Social Care teams.
A good understanding of the relevant Adult Social Care legislation is essential to these posts. You will need to be able to work autonomously within agreed timeframes and manage frequently changing circumstances.
