We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Customer Services Duty Officer to join our team of Customer Services Duty Officers who provide a full facilities/buildings service for our Head office at Causeway House, Braintree and the Plaza, our enterprise centre in Great Notley, Braintree. The Plaza offers workspaces and also meeting and seminar rooms, conference and event spaces.

The role

As a Customer Services Duty Officer you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of our buildings and will be the first point of contact for customers outside of normal working hours. You will take the lead on the resolution of building issues and maintenance ensuing that customers receive a first-class service.

This role will include dealing with a wide range of facilities and building issues including operating the Fire & Intruder alarm system, monitoring of CCTV, monitoring of car parking arrangements, meeting room preparation, building security and ensuring that the facilities are operating smoothly and efficiently. 

Your main shifts will alternate according to business need and will include shifts between the hours of 6am – 10 pm Monday to Thursday to include early, late and day shifts and also covering shifts between Friday 6am to Sunday 7am. You will additionally be expected to cover other shifts on occasions, including some evening, night and weekend working.

The experience and skills you will bring

We are looking for individuals that have excellent communication skills, the ability to work on their own initiative and to work on a flexible shift pattern and to be able to demonstrate a high level of customer care.

In addition, you will bring:

  • Experience of Building maintenance issues including first line response and resolution.
  • Experience of facilities management and/or liaising with facilities management and 3rd party contractors.
  • Experience of working in customer facing roles including venue and event support.
  • Experience of using and trouble-shooting Audio-Visual solutions.
  • Experience of using IT systems for building issues and requests.
  • Building security experience including alarm systems and CCTV.
  • Practical skills in building and general maintenance.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office 365.
  • Facilities Management knowledge.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to take the lead in resolving customer issues independently.
  • The ability to work flexibly working shifts including some weekend working when required.
  • Health and safety knowledge and skills relating to all building issues.
