Trainee Revenues Officer

Are you looking for the next step in your Finance career? We have a great opportunity for a Trainee Revenues Officer to join our team and study for the Revenues, Ratings and Valuation (IRRV) qualification.
In this unique career grade role, you will work with a team of experienced Revenues Officers whilst completing the IRRV qualification. You will be fully supported with your studies and career development.
The role will involve dealing with general and complex enquiries, both over the telephone and in person, issuing and dispatching demand and recovery notices, invoices and summonses and maintaining the Council Tax, Business Rates and Sundry Debtor database.
You will also undertake property inspections, process recovery proceedings, attending the Magistrates’ and County Courts when necessary, liaise with bailiffs and credit agencies regarding debt recovery, and provide year end assistance with the Revenues, Recovery and NDR accounts.
You will possess excellent numerical, data and financial skills and you must be willing to study for the IRRV. Please note, it is a requirement of the job role that you successfully pass this qualification.
An experienced administrator, ideally in a financial setting, you will have excellent communication, customer service and IT skills and a great track record of learning new systems and processes.
You will also have good data security knowledge and an awareness of relevant Council Tax and Business Rates legislation.
Comfortable working both as part of a team and independently, you will have excellent organisational skills and an ability to build effective working relationships.
