We have an exciting opportunity for an ICT Security Analyst to join our ICT Team and help protect the Council’s systems, networks and information from evolving cyber threats.

This is a varied, hands-on role at the heart of our cyber security response. You will be the first point of contact for ICT security issues, helping to identify, investigate and respond to threats while improving the controls that protect our technology and data. You will monitor security systems, review emerging risks and work with local and national partners to keep our approach current and effective.

You will help design, implement, maintain and monitor security measures across our systems and networks. You will also keep cyber security documentation and incident response procedures up to date, support regular testing and help deliver practical cyber security awareness and training for employees and Councillors.

Alongside your security responsibilities, you will contribute to the wider ICT service, including Microsoft 365 administration, infrastructure and application updates, network monitoring, user support and service requests. Working within ITIL and change management processes, you will provide clear advice, accurate records and excellent customer service.

To apply, you will have a Level 5 qualification in Cyber Security, or an equivalent level of experience. You will bring experience of managing and supporting security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection, anti-virus, authentication, log management and content filtering, together with a sound understanding of network and operating system security.

The successful candidate will be curious, methodical and proactive, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to communicate technical risks clearly.
