Commercial Sales Assistant

We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Sales Assistant to join our Operations team on a fixed term contract for a year.
Taking responsibility for a portfolio of new and existing commercial waste customers, you will promote the Council’s Waste and Recycling Services, supporting and advising businesses to think more sustainably about waste disposal and maximising recycling opportunities.
Playing a key part in improving customer experience and generating additional income, you will use a pro-active sales approach to meet targets and act as a main point of contact for customers, offering advice and assistance on a range of queries.
You will also liaise with the Waste Management team to ensure customer service standards are met, deal promptly with issues or queries, including the non-collection of waste, and provide administrative support to the Operations team.
About You
With proven sales experience, you will have great negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills, especially with telephone and face to face sales interviews.
You will be confident, self-motivated and proactive, with good team-working and organisational skills, along with experience of working in a busy office and the ability to respond positively to changing and conflicting priorities.
You will also be keen to meet customers and be able to develop and maintain excellent working relationships.
A full, clean driving licence and access to your own vehicle is an essential requirement for this role.
