Are you looking for an opportunity to lead and shape a critical frontline housing service? Do you want to play a key role in tackling homelessness and delivering sustainable housing outcomes for residents across the Braintree district?

Our Housing & Community Service is continuing to evolve to meet increasing demand and complexity. We are seeking an Accommodation Manager to provide strong operational leadership across Temporary Accommodation, Private Rented Sector access, Move on accommodation and accommodation procurement.

In this role you will take ownership of a high-profile service area, leading work to reduce reliance on Temporary Accommodation, improve move-on, and ensure we are making best use of available housing supply. You will oversee accommodation placements, manage provider and contract performance, and drive a focus on value for money and improved customer outcomes.

You will lead a small but critical team and work closely with partners, providers and internal services to ensure a coordinated and effective approach to homelessness prevention and accommodation delivery. This is a key leadership role within Housing & Community Services, providing the capacity needed to stabilise and improve a service under significant demand pressure.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Experience of working within a housing or accommodation service, including Temporary Accommodation
  • Strong operational leadership skills, with the ability to manage performance and deliver results
  • Experience of working with external providers, landlords or partners
  • The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • A sound understanding of homelessness legislation and accommodation duties

You will need to be confident in making decisions, managing risk and driving service improvements, with a strong focus on achieving better outcomes for residents. Strong communication, negotiation and partnership working skills are essential.

In return, you will join an organisation that values your contribution and provides the opportunity to make a tangible difference. We are proud of the services we deliver and are committed to continuous improvement and innovation.
