Assistant Investment Analyst

Job Introduction
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our investment team and play a key role in helping to manage the Fund’s £20 billion investment portfolio. The role is a full-time role and will focus on supporting the investment team to manage the funds £12 billion equity and £3 billion bond portfolios. This is an ideal opportunity to contribute toward the quality management of the pension funds’ assets and pursue a career with one of the country’s leading LGPS investment teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist senior investment managers in the daily and strategic management of the investment portfolio.
- Conduct analytical research into companies making use of stockbrokers’ research and other sources of information.
- Assist senior managers to undertake risk management such as sector and market weighting analysis for their markets and the portfolio as a whole.
- Assist senior managers to undertake performance analysis
- Support the Treasury Manager with daily cash management.
- Contribute to the delivery of a high-quality investment management service.
You will be:
- Part Qualified or studying a recognised CCAB qualification or relevant stock market qualification (e.g. CFA or CISI), educated to degree level and has demonstratable experience in investment analysis.
- Experience of working within the professional area of a large financial organisation.
- A comprehensive understanding of financial markets, and economic data.
- Experience of carrying our independent analytical research and reporting.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex investment matters clearly.
