SEND Senior Officer

Job Introduction

The SEND Integrated Assessment Team are responsible for the Local Authorities statutory functions in respect of Education, Health and Care Assessment and reviews. 

We are looking for a SEND Senior Officer to join our dedicated team. This role is an opportunity to make a real difference in our vibrant and diverse city. 

The main responsibilities of this role:

• To work in partnership with parents in relation to individual pupil cases, to offer a listening ear, showing empathy and support at all times; to liaise with the Parent Partnership Service and the local Mediation Service where necessary to support a solution focused approach to resolving casework.
• To work collaboratively with a range of professional colleagues within Bradford Council, and Casework Officers across the 0-25 Integrated Assessment Team as well as partners from other agencies such as health and social care to ensure that EHCP assessments and annual reviews are fully compliant.
• To prepare individual cases and present them as the representative of Bradford Council at the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal undertaking training where necessary.
•  To line manage a team of SEND Casework Officers and Annual Review Officers

An Enhanced Disclosure check with Barred List will be undertaken for this post.
