Job Introduction
The ANPR/CCTV Technical Support team are a small team which provides technical support and contract management, maintenance, expertise and guidance on ANPR/CCTV based systems and networks on behalf of a number of services across the council, including the Clean Air Zone, Moving Traffic Enforcement, CCTV services, Highways and Environmental Enforcement. Working with internal services, senior management, external contractors and suppliers, dealing with general monitoring and maintenance through to the provision of technical support and guidance on system/infrastructure procurement, contract renewals and system development in line with latest available technologies.
We provide an essential service in ensuring that all the systems used in the day-to-day running of these service areas are monitored, maintained and updated to ensure smooth operations, timely intervention where required and upgrades and improvements are scheduled and implemented.
The service areas assisted by this team have recently expanded so we are looking for a skilled/experienced person with a strong background in ANPR/CCTV infrastructure and systems.
Role Description
We are looking for an ANPR/CCTV Systems & Operational Support Assistant to join our dedicated team in the Department of Environment. This role is an opportunity to make a real difference in our vibrant and diverse city.
The main responsibilities of this role:
To support the ANPR/CCTV Systems & Operational Support Manager with:
- Technical Support & Maintenance of ANPR/CCTV systems and infrastructure ( Servers, Network Switch and Firewall configuration ) Control room Alarm ARC system, lone worker systems and radio systems, used across a wide range of services.
- Working in accordance with supplier contracts & monitoring and reporting on outcomes and contractor performance. Working with internal services and managing external contractors and suppliers.
- Providing technical and operational support to relevant service management. Providing technical advice/guidance to services in the procurement of new systems, system upgrades or contract reviews.
- Keeping abreast of new technologies and security requirements for future integrations into the Councils operating systems.
- To identify service efficiencies, cost savings and commercial opportunities to enable growth for the service.
- Working with service management in the management and review of systems resilience and emergency/disaster recovery plans.
