Job Introduction

The role

We’re looking for Business Analysts to join us at the start of a major ERP transformation covering Finance, Payroll and HR.  The roles are temporary for 12 months with a likely extension.  There are up to 3 posts available.

This role is aimed at strong Business Analysts who are comfortable working across different services, understanding how current processes work, and helping shape future ways of working. You do not need to have significant ERP experience, but you should be interested in developing your skills in this area and working on a major transformation programme from the beginning.

We’re currently in the plan and procure phase, so this is a good opportunity to get involved early — helping capture current processes, shape requirements, support procurement activity, and then follow the programme through into implementation. The programme is expected to run through to 2028.

What you’ll be doing

•    Leading and supporting process mapping across Finance, Payroll, HR and related service areas

•    Working with services to understand current ways of working, issues, risks and improvement opportunities

•    Helping translate business needs into clear requirements for a future ERP solution

•    Supporting procurement activity, including documentation, evaluation and supplier engagement

•    Contributing to future process design, testing, rollout and business readiness

•    Working with project teams and services to make sure change is understood, practical and delivers benefits

•    Supporting the wider programme through different stages, from early discovery through to implementation and post-go-live improvement

About you

•    Solid Business Analyst experience, particularly around process mapping, requirements gathering and stakeholder engagement

•    Able to work across different service areas and quickly understand how processes, systems and people fit together

•    Comfortable facilitating workshops, asking good questions and turning detail into clear analysis

•    Able to manage complexity and work with a range of stakeholders at different levels

•    Interested in building experience in ERP transformation and large-scale organisational change

Desirable:

•    Experience of ERP systems or transformation programmes, such as SAP / S4HANA, Oracle, Workday, Unit4 or similar

•    Experience supporting procurement, system selection or large change programmes

•    Knowledge of Finance, Payroll or HR processes

•    Experience of Lean, process improvement or service redesign approaches

Why this role?

•    A good opportunity for experienced BAs to move into ERP transformation

•    You’ll be joining a programme right at the beginning, not halfway through

•    Real opportunity to shape decisions and influence direction

•    Chance to build end-to-end ERP experience across procurement, design, implementation and rollout

•    Work across a high-profile programme that will change how core council services operate

•    A longer-term programme environment, not a short-term piece of work
