Are you passionate about developing bespoke applications and supporting innovative pension administration systems?
West Yorkshire Pension Fund (WYPF) is seeking a highly organised and detail conscious Senior Database Engineer/Developer to join our team.
You will play a key role in bringing on new client’s data and setting up payroll to ensure pensioners continue enjoying their benefits plus working with external and internal development teams supporting multiple clients contributing to the ongoing success and growth of WYPF.
Key Responsibilities
· Develops the overall design and strategy of large-scale core client and data migrations, solutions and delivery.
· Sets the strategy for individual client migrations of external pension funds into WYPF from a technology perspective in terms of both target platform and migration approach.
· Develops WYPF own code and applications that allows WYPF to be industry leading in feature rich code and services and provide WYPF USP’s in the marketplace e.g. WYPF’s payroll and HMRC systems.
· Designs, builds, and maintains robust databases and systems, ensuring data integrity and security, scalability, and performance.
About You
We are looking for somebody who likes to develop/program and is a natural completer finisher of work. Enjoys working both in a team and individually and is naturally curious about new technology, AI and automation. Managing SQL databases should be second nature and it would be helpful to have some .NET and/or Python experience.
Essential Experience and Skills:
· Expert knowledge of migration of clients from different providers and client set up processes.
· Experience of making effective decisions through the analysis of technical information and executing them.
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
· At least 5 years of experience in database development, management and development coding.
· Expert understanding of SQL and relational database design.
· Experience with database technologies such as MySQL, TSQL, Python, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
