Job Introduction

We are looking for a Skilled Gardener to join our dedicated team in Parks, Environment. This role is an opportunity to make a real difference in our vibrant and diverse city. 

The main responsibilities of this role:

  • Work as part of a team or occasionally on their own, carrying out all general grounds maintenance duties e.g. fine sports turf, general grass cutting, shrub and flower bed maintenance, winter sports or any other horticultural tasks as identified on sites within the Local Authority district. 
  • Ensure that equipment is safe to use and that all safety requirements applicable to the operative, other employees and members of the public are adhered to.
  • Operation of and minor maintenance of mowing equipment, small tools and plant.
  • Security of equipment and plant being used on site.
  • Carry out work to a high standard
  • Own health and safety whilst working on site, and also responsible for colleagues and members of the public.
