Job Introduction

This post will be based in Bradford’s VI, MSI & PN Service, initially in the outreach team.

We are seeking to recruit a creative, innovative and experienced Qualified Teacher of Multi-sensory Impaired (QTMSI) to work in the outreach team to support young people with a dual sensory impairment and their families across a range of settings including the early years, maintained schools, resourced provisions and special schools.

As a QTMSI you will carry out the responsibilities of the role including:

  • Support to teachers, pupils and parents/carers in developing and managing approaches and provision for dual sensory impaired young people in Primary and Secondary Schools.
  • Optimising outcomes for these young people by providing guidance to schools through assessment, teaching, training and support for staff.
  • A commitment to providing families with balanced, unbiased support and advice to enable them to make an informed choice for their dual sensory impaired young people.
  • Working in partnership with other agencies involved in services for dual sensory impaired young people

Applications are welcome from experienced and qualified teachers of multi-sensory impaired. However, we would be happy to consider outstanding and experienced qualified teachers in primary or secondary schools with significant recent experience of working with sensory impaired children, looking to develop their career in working with dual sensory impaired young people.

The service would be willing to support the successful candidate to undertake training to achieve the mandatory qualification.
