Job Introduction

Want to make a difference?  Can you bring people together to create a better place for our existing and future communities?

Bradford isn’t just a great place to work — it’s a place to make a real impact. As one of the UK’s most diverse, youngest, ambitious and fast‑evolving cities, Bradford offers a professional landscape that is as challenging as it is rewarding. If you’re the kind of person that can encourage partnership working, improve service provision and make a difference to the lives of our communities then the Housing Team, is the team for you.

This is the kind of environment where colleagues don’t just apply policy — they shape it. Bradford gives you the platform to influence departmental direction, drive improvement, and leave a legacy of safer, healthier communities.

What we are looking for.

We are looking for a Gypsy and Traveller Service Manager to join our dedicated Housing Team. This role is an opportunity to make a real difference in our vibrant and diverse city.

The main responsibilities of this role:

  • Manage the Gypsy and Traveller Service, including permanent sites, temporary sites and encampments.
  • Work with stakeholders to generate a network of partnership activity that supports, encourages and enables the communities to thrive.
  • Ensure the service provided is effective, efficient and inclusive, with rights and responsibilities of both the community and the Council being clearly identified.
  • Work with colleagues to proactively improve the physical environment, review all policies and procedures and generate a context of mutual trust between the Council and our Gypsy and Traveller communities.

The Reward

  • Salary PO4 up to £49,282
  • An excellent work-life balance
  • A supportive, collaborative, working culture
  • The chance to make a measurable difference to the lives of people in Bradford
