The Role
Bolton’s Virtual School have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate SEND Lead to play a key role in improving educational outcomes for children with a social worker who have, or may have, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will provide advice, guidance and direct support to schools, social workers, carers and partner agencies, ensuring children receive the right support at the right time. You will hold a caseload of children, monitor progress through Personal Education Plan (PEP) meetings, promote inclusive practice, and work proactively to prevent exclusion, placement breakdown and disengagement from education.
About You
You will be a qualified teacher with QTS, an experienced SENCO, and have a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice, safeguarding and the barriers faced by children with a social worker. You will be confident in analysing information, writing high-quality reports and working collaboratively with a wide range of professionals to secure positive outcomes for children and young people. We are looking for someone who is solution-focused, highly organised and able to build productive relationships with schools, families and partner agencies. Above all, you will be committed to inclusion, ambitious for every child, and motivated by making a meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people across Bolton.
