We are seeking a passionate, resilient, and solution-focused Assistant Education Access Officer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting some of Bolton's most vulnerable children and young people, helping them overcome barriers to education and achieve positive outcomes
Working closely with the Senior Education Access Officer, you will help ensure that children and young people who are unable to attend school due to exclusion, illness, social, emotional and mental health needs, or other circumstances, receive appropriate educational provision in line with statutory duties.
You will work collaboratively with schools, families, health professionals and other partner agencies to ensure children remain engaged in education and are supported to successfully reintegrate into mainstream settings wherever possible.
No two days are the same. One day you may be supporting a child to transitioning from Alternative Provision to mainstream school, and the next you could be advising schools on exclusion legislation or contributing to a multi-agency meeting to secure the best outcomes for a young person
About You
We're looking for someone who is passionate about inclusion and believes that every child deserves the opportunity to succeed.
You will have: a degree-level qualification in an education-related field or substantial experience in a similar role.
With extensive experience working with children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs you will have excellent knowledge of Section 19 duties, exclusions legislation and statutory guidance.
With a reflective and resilient approach, with a commitment to finding solutions, you will have the ability to negotiate, challenge appropriately and influence positive outcomes.
