This is an exciting time in which to join the North Mental Health Social Care Team.

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Social Worker to join our Mental Health team in Bolton. You will work collaboratively with health and social care colleagues to complete and review assessments, support plans, placements, and carer assessments under the Care Act 2014, including Section 117 Aftercare under the Mental Health Act.

The role involves ensuring that high-quality needs led assessments are strengths based and outcome focused for the person. In addition, you will be skilled at identifying safeguarding concerns and completing safeguarding enquiries pursuant to S42 of the Care Act 2014. You will also have good knowledge and experience in applying the correct principles of the Mental Capacity Act.

You will have experience in working within a multi-disciplinary team and will be able to demonstrate your strong social work values within. You will play a key role in reducing inequalities and stigma that comes with supporting people with severe mental illness, and you will be a strong advocate.

AMHP qualification is desirable, or you can work toward this through our development programme. Join us to make a real difference and benefit from strong professional leadership and learning support.

About You

We are seeking a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England, with experience in Adult Social Care and mental health. You will be a creative thinker with a passion for evidence-informed practice, curiosity, collaboration, and promoting equality and diversity.

You will need strong skills in assessing and reviewing care needs, identifying unmet needs, and ensuring appropriate use of resources is essential.

You should be able to identify and respond to provider quality issues and work effectively with health partners and wider Council services to achieve positive outcomes. Excellent knowledge and implemented of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and related legislation is required.

AMHP qualification is desirable, or you can work toward this through our development programme. You’ll be a motivated team player committed to improving services for adults with severe mental illness, supported by professional guidance, supervision, and opportunities for development.
