The Role

We are seeking an organised and customer-focused Business Support Officer to provide high-quality administrative support within a busy team Community Safety team. The role involves coordinating meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, maintaining records and databases, managing shared inboxes, processing invoices and purchase orders, and responding to enquiries from customers and colleagues. You will deliver excellent customer service, manage a varied workload, and work collaboratively with colleagues to support efficient service delivery. Strong organisational, communication, and IT skills are essential, along with a flexible and proactive approach.


About You

The successful candidate will provide leadership and support to the Community Safety Partnership, including strategic theme groups and relevant operational working groups, contributing to the development and implementation of strategy, policy and service delivery. You will work closely with elected members and a wide range of partner agencies such as Greater Manchester Police, housing providers, neighbourhood watch groups and VCSE organisations, supporting them on community safety priorities and emerging issues.

A key aspect of the role involves developing, coordinating and implementing multiagency responses to community safety challenges, using evidencebased problemsolving techniques, partnership action plans and community engagement to achieve shared outcomes. You will support service managers through research and analysis, consultation activity, report writing and the facilitation of discussions at partnership meetings, ensuring decisions are informed by highquality intelligence and evidence.

The role also includes preparing and presenting highlight and performance reports for the Community Safety Partnership and its subgroups, monitoring progress against agreed action plans and projects. You will contribute to the development of effective performance management systems that enable the partnership to measure impact, identify risk and drive continuous improvement. Responsibility for coordinating the CCTV resource sits within this role, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
