The Role

Every day, Access Bolton helps residents access vital council services and supports them with some of the issues that matter most in their daily lives. We are looking for positive, enthusiastic and professional individuals to join our high-performing customer service team.

No two days are the same. You'll support customers with a wide range of enquiries, including Council Tax, Benefits, Planning, Registrars, Bins and Recycling, delivering excellent service both over the phone and face to face. Through every interaction, you'll play an important role in helping customers access the services they need.

We currently have a number of full-time vacancies available.

These roles are based on a 37-hour working week, Monday to Friday, with flexible shifts between 8:00am and 5:30pm.

Access Bolton has been Bolton Council's contact centre and face-to-face One Stop Shop for more than 20 years. We offer competitive rates of pay and, unlike many contact centres, provide an excellent work-life balance with no evening, weekend or Bank Holiday working.

We operate a hybrid working model, combining the benefits of working alongside colleagues in our welcoming Town Hall office with the flexibility of home working. Successful candidates will need to be comfortable working from both locations as required and will complete their first 12 weeks fully office-based whilst undertaking training and development.

You'll be joining a supportive and friendly team with a strong focus on delivering excellent customer service. We work in a fast-paced environment where colleagues share knowledge, embrace change and work together to achieve positive outcomes for customers.

If you're passionate about helping people, enjoy solving problems and thrive in a busy customer-focused environment, we'd love to hear from you.

Join Access Bolton and be part of a team that makes a real difference to the residents and communities of Bolton every day.

About You

This is a busy and rewarding role where you'll be helping customers with a wide variety of enquiries, often at times when they need support, so you'll need to be motivated, resilient and eager to learn.

We're looking for people who take pride in delivering excellent customer service and remain positive and professional when working in a fast-paced environment. You'll enjoy helping others, solving problems and finding the best outcomes for our customers.

Strong communication skills are essential, along with a positive attitude and a willingness to embrace change. You'll also need to be comfortable using a range of IT systems and have good levels of literacy and numeracy to support your day-to-day work.

If you're a team player who enjoys working with people, learning new skills and making a real difference to customers, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
