The Role

The Development Management team is responsible for the dealing with Planning and Building Control services across Bolton. We are looking for an IT Applications Support Officer to join our team to combine day-to-day application support for our current IDOX Uniform software along with the ability to define requirements, support procurement activity and help to implement a modern replacement platform. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring business continuity, maintaining platform security, improving user experience and supporting digital transformation across the planning and building control service


About You


Our ideal candidate will be motivated, organised and confident taking responsibility for managing, maintaining and developing the teams IT Systems with a qualification in information management or information technology and/or good experience in a similar IT role.

You will need extensive experience of managing databases e.g. Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases, experience of managing applications hosted in a Microsoft Azure Cloud Environment and an understanding of key ITIL based processes.

Excellent communication skills are essential to ensure good working relationships within the Planning Service, the Council’s wider Technology team and our current supplier IDOX.
