The Role

Are you looking for a challenging role where you can make a difference?

As a Welfare Rights Officer working independently in a small and busy team, you will deliver comprehensive and specialist benefits advice to residents across Bolton. The focus of this job will be to support crisis and resilience initiatives across Bolton, accepting referrals from other organisations where they identify the need for specialist benefits support. You will help to support customers to maximise their income and engage in problem resolution, including supporting them in challenging decisions


About You

The successful candidate will have a detailed and practical knowledge of social security legislation and the appeals process and be able to confidently represent and advocate for clients from the first day in the job across the full range of Social Security benefits.

You will be able to work under pressure, juggling demands and priorities to meet regular deadlines. You will have excellent casework skills, keeping customers informed and records up to date, and will be confident and competent in using IT applications to support your casework activity.
