The Role

£12,791 to £12,994 essential car user allowance up to £963pa - pay award pending


Working as part of a team you will provide the facilities management for the Best Start Family Hubs across the borough, in line with the Council’s standard operating procedures.
You will be responsible for the maintenance of site security, opening and closing buildings and ensuring all facilities in and around the buildings are in excellent condition, safe, secure and clean at all times, and that all equipment is maintained, and resources are available.

Duties include:

General repairs and maintenance, including basic joinery, painting and decorating.
Manual handling of equipment and resources.
General upkeep of the building, including cleaning and grounds maintenance.
Preparing and tidying rooms before and after activities for children and families.
Reporting any maintenance issues to the relevant department.
Undertake fire safety and general health and safety checks to the building.

An essential car user allowance is payable as boroughwide travel across centres is required.

You will work as part of a rota, so a flexible approach to work is essential. 1x 18.5-hour post working 7am 10:43am; and Saturday working/on-call on a shared rota.


About You

You will have a flexible approach to responding to the needs of the service and be able to provide the facilities management for service buildings to ensure they provide a safe and healthy environment for all service users.

You will be organised and committed to ensuring Bolton Family Hubs provide the best possible facilities to our children and families.

You will work flexibly as a part of a team, providing cover at other centres as and when required, and assisting staff and services users in a professional manner which reflects the values of the Council.
