The Role:

Salary £25,989 to £28,142 pay award pending

The Waste and Recycling Service is looking to appoint Refuse Loaders to join the team!


Working across a range of waste streams (residual, recycling and green waste) you will be expected to safely operate a range of waste collection vehicles, continuously improve collection round efficiency and drive performance.


Working as part of a team, you will deliver waste collection services to householders across the borough. You will also promote and encourage environmentally responsible behaviour and help to improve participation in recycling activities to increase the boroughs recycling rate and reduce litter on our streets.


About You:

Refuse Loaders are the cornerstone of our operations.


You will be professional, organised and meticulous in your approach. You will be task focussed, motivated to get the job done and will be expected to follow instructions and work to strict deadlines.


You must be happy to work in all weathers and with high level of physical fitness, and able to move heavy loads.


As you will be working in the community, a high level of customer care combined with the ability to influence recycling behaviours are essential. You must be able to communicate with colleagues, team members and members of the public.


Previous experience is desirable. A flexible approach to working hours (from 5:15 am) is essential as operations commence early in the morning and involve working on Bank Holidays
