The Role

£12,994.50 - £14,0771.00 Pro-rata, per annum - pay award pending

In February 2026 the Department for Education launched seven Kinship Zones to support kinship families with the right help at the right time this included Bolton.

Kinship carers are adults who step in to provide a loving and supportive home to children in their family whose parents are unable to care for them full-time for a wide range of reasons. They are often grandparents, aunts, uncles or family friends.

The pilot will run for up to three and a half years and each Kinship Zone will receive a package of funding and support, enabling local authorities to tailor delivery to local needs.


We are looking for an experienced Senior Administrator to join the ‘Bolton Family’ and be a part of our Kinship Zone pilot scheme.

You will work closely with the Financial Transaction Team, in supporting the Financial Transaction Team Manager and with other teams associated with the Kinship Zone function.


About You

You will demonstrate effective communication skills in order to present information, both verbally and in writing.

You will have the ability to work as part of a team and under your own supervision. You should be able to demonstrate effective organisational skills, with the ability to plan, develop and prioritise your work.

You must possess accurate literacy skills to ensure correct information is collated and processed and have good systems skills, with an analytical and solution focussed approach, that allows agreed timescales and deadlines to be met.

Experience of using a range of computer software packages to produce accurate, well-presented documents is essential, as is a demonstrable ability to handle cash and be able to record and monitor payments in line with financial procedures.

You must have excellent literacy skills to ensure correct information is collated and processed and be proficient in the use of packages such as Word, Excel and Outlook.

Finally, you will be required to have strong numeracy skills, with the ability to provide statistical data and to be able to check and reconcile computer data and have the ability to maintain and update financial data, to a high level of accuracy.
