The Role
£34,434 to £38,220- pay award pending
This is an exciting opportunity to join Bolton Council’s Strategic Commissioning Team as a Placements and Brokerage Officer. The remit of the Placements and Brokerage Officer will be to coordinate a variety of searches for our Bolton children and young people, to source placements, based on internally quality assured referrals from social work teams.
The role will involve completing due diligence checks relating to new providers and responding positively and professionally to referrals from Social Workers, ensuring the quality of information enables the identification of placements, via screening, that meet a child or young person’s assessed needs. Building relationships with colleagues and partner agencies across a wide range of external organisations and internal departments is key to this role so that we can ensure our children and young people are matched to the right placements.
The successful candidate will work with collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure that care placements comply with the required national standards and appropriate regulatory bodies frameworks, ensuring that the relevant placement-related documentation is completed following placement agreement.
About You
We are looking for highly motivated, energetic person with great interpersonal skills and the capacity to forge excellent relationships and effective multi-agency working. You will be passionate and will have the ability to work at pace in a challenging environment.
You will have the ability to manage multiple objectives within timescales while achieving required outcomes. You will have excellent analytical skills and lateral thinking and the ability to develop creative and innovative solutions. You will also have excellent IT skills, in particular Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel. You must be capable of working on your own initiative to help drive and enable improved outcomes for the looked after children of Bolton.
