The Role
£34,434 to £41,771, pay award pending
We’re looking for a skilled and forward-thinking finance professional to join Bolton Council and support the delivery of our financial strategy across our Adults, Children’s and Housing services. We’re recruiting a Career Grade Principal Accountant to join our friendly, high-performing team and play a key role in supporting services that matter to our communities.
Reporting to the Group Accountant, we are seeking a highly-motivated and proficient candidate to deliver strategic financial monitoring, assist in statutory accounting and budget planning whilst contributing to the efficient operation of our accounting team. This is a key role focused on ensuring financial integrity, supporting strategic decision-making, and driving operational excellence. It offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a dynamic and ambitious local authority while working closely with the services we support.
About You
The candidate must be AAT or part-qualified CCAB accountant. Candidates who apply who have evidence of achieving full CCAB qualification will be appointed at Grade H.
You will bring technical expertise and a confident, collaborative approach to financial management. You’re comfortable using innovative IT solutions to improve financial systems and have an ability to provide advice and guidance to colleagues across the departments and our external partners.
