We are seeking a proactive and relationship driven Employer Engagement Officer to join our Employment and Skills service, supporting local residents who are unemployed or economically inactive to move into sustainable work.
This role is central to strengthening partnerships with employers, identifying job opportunities, and ensuring that residents have clear pathways into employment. You will work closely with Employment Advisors, training providers, and local businesses to match candidates to vacancies, promote inclusive recruitment, and help employers access available support programmes.
You will actively plan and deliver engaging employerfocused activity such as job fairs, dropin sessions, and targeted sectorbased recruitment events, while gathering valuable labour market insight and employer feedback to shape responsive local programmes.
Additionally, you will maintain accurate records, contribute to performance reporting, and ensure all activity champions equality, diversity, and inclusive growth, helping create sustainable employment outcomes for the community.
About You:
You will be passionate about helping people into work and confident engaging with a wide range of employers. You’ll bring strong communication skills, commercial awareness, and a solution focused approach.
We're looking for someone who has experience in employer engagement, recruitment, business development, or similar.
A knowledge of local labour markets and business needs, as well as the ability to understand and match candidate skills to employer requirements and a commitment to supporting residents facing barriers to employment is crucial for this role.

You must have strong organisational skills and the ability to work in a fastpaced environment.
