The Role:
Salary - £34,434 to £38,220, pay award pending
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Highway Inspection Team Leader to oversee the delivery of a high-quality highway inspection service.
You will lead a team of Highway Safety Inspectors who are responsible for identifying and recording defects across the highway network, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, codes of practice and local policies. There will also be an expectation for you to perform both driven and walked highway safety inspections when the service demands.
You will also be responsible for performance monitoring, training and developing team members, and liaising with internal departments, contractors and members of the public to resolve highway issues effectively.
In addition to this role, you will provide technical guidance, manage and deliver the council’s Highway Enforcement function
About You:
Our Highways Team plays a vital role in keeping the region moving delivering safe, reliable and sustainable transport infrastructure that supports our communities and local economy. As a Team Manager, you must have the skills to manage a multi-disciplinary team.
Detailed knowledge and experience of the Highway Inspection Process, NRSWA 1991, The Highways Act 1980 and any other relevant regulations where they relate to the service are essential.
A City and Guilds Accreditation or similar in Highway Safety Inspections is desirable but not essential to this role.
